If phones are listening to what we say all day in order to show us ads and recommendations doesn't that explain why batteries last so short?

It's one of the reasons, yep.

That makes sense! 👿

no, early nostr clients explain that 😂

😂 true dat!

That’s and Damus 😅

And why are we required to pay for this data usage? 🤔🤔🤔

Dodgy business models, my friend.

My grapheneOS actually lasts more than 24 hours between charges

That's still very bad.

I seriously see ads shortly after conversations in my house. #SmartHomeRegrets

I think it’s more because too many apps end up keeping the WiFi or cellular chips on all the time.

The lithium also breaks down over time. The “speed chargers” exacerbate the effects as well. So in turn, phone batteries wear out that much faster.

I use a degoogled pixel. It improves battery life but not immensely.

Oh, and these giant screens use a lot of power too.

I'm pretty sure degoogled new pixel devices can last 24 hours and more. My device running #CalyxOS does more than 24 hours easily but I've set battery saver to be enabled at 75%.
