I don't use Damus, but on Astral, I just clicked on the Quote button, which is essentially a Quote ReTweet.

I’m still getting used to the fact that all the people I see and the notes I am reading are all from a multitude of different apps.

i guess technically, that's how it is on twitter too, though most people use the official client :P

On Damus atm you copy/paste the Note ID and put an @ in front of it.

Long-click the post you want to use to bring up the Copy Note ID button
