Advising everyone (unless im also a woman) to exist on internet as a nym is a solution, not only for trolls and fuckheads but also protecting yourself from many different threats like corrupt government. Not perfect but something.
You can put your face out there, having a penis or a vag. Someone will love you and make beautiful memes for you and someone else will hate your guts and harass you. The more people see you, the more hate will come. Not everyone is nice. Sorry I dont think being reasonable is part of a problem but thats my opinion. Not everyone will agree.

But.... We all should exist under a pseudonym in the internet not only women. It's called privacy and we even have a name for it: Nickname!

Advising people to use pseudonyms to maintain privacy on the internet only works if you manage to never let slip a personal detail. Every personal detail makes it easier to connect a nym to your real world identity.
Facebook actually thought at one point requiring first and last names would help prevent harassment because the harasser couldn’t hide behind a fake identity.
I think it’s a cultural problem without an easy solution. Online harassment is an issue for all.
One of the toughest things about raising a daughter was having to explain what some men are like...broke my heart to...there's a way it should be, and a way it is, unfortunately and it will remain the responsibility of dads to teach their daughters to protect themselves from degenerates, online and off 😔
