However now you see, that precisely is what is often meant about the idea of "accountability", that could be in this case, to be able to take a new stance in-related to the previous one. There it could be where the idea of "deleting something in the internet" could get messy.

Probably the closest way to get a deletion in the way I think you're imagining, it would be by running and moderating your own relay, —and that by the way isn't so difficult these days—; other way could also being to encrypt the events you share so is only readable by those that you can decide where to speak in total privacy and security.

of course these things need to be discussed. 🤝 just don’t stop at the drunk post example. go down the list. it’s the tip of the iceberg. come up with your own nightmare scenarios. this isn’t as black and white as “personal responsibility or accountability”. some things should never be permanently public or weaponized against your will.

as bad as it can possibly get, not having sovereignty over a typo is already too far for me and demands a solution.
