Ngl Thailand needs to change its consumer attitude towards plastic. Whilst they do recycle and sort, the sheer volume of plastic packets, containers, sauces, plastic.. it's just so so so so so much.

Like ridiculously a lot.

Unfortunately they can't afford to charge people for packets (I don't think) and most customers expectations of food delivery is to be properly secured.

In my week here I've personally produced at least 2kg of plastic waste from food packaging.

Now I'm outright refusing plastics where I can.

But some socks? Plastic bag.

But some glue? Plastic bag

Buy some cigarettes. Plastic bag.

Buy a spanner? Plastic bag.

Buy a crossaint, plastic bag.

Get your coffee? In a plastic cup with plastic straw and in a plastic bag.

Ordering food? Plastic bag, plastic spoons, plastic sauce packets, food containers, chopsticks, even like three or four rubber bands

What the fuck

Come to Japan, they wrap their plastic in plastic.

Ya is it an Asian thing? I get hygiene and cleanliness but plastic waste (single usage too) is just ending up in a landfill somewhere, or in their river systems or stuff idk they keep very clean but it's all got to go somewhere right

Yes, it is an Asian thing. I think it might have to do with the humidity. Paper bags absorb the humidity and rip but the plastic will last a lot longer and hold greater weight. The Japanese government passed some bill where the stores now have to charge the customer if they want a plastic bag.

Yes I think the charge policy helps reduce overall waste and makes the consumer bring a bag of they don't want the extra charge.

You are just brainwashed. Plastic is cheap and useful.

You're speaking to an oil man,

I hate condoms

take your woke & climate change bullshit and go back to your country, leave Thailand alone.

No, I'm fine. How's Canada? 😂

It's full of leftists like you, forcing private companies not to have plastic bags and gas stoves

It's my choice nigger, if I say no plastic, then I want no plastic lmao
