Thank you, I removed the relay. Who's relay is this and how come this is common over that relay particularly?

As far as I'm aware it belongs to nostr:nprofile1qqs8nsk2uy2w529fs8n4tx60u7z553e4yx5dy2nxhw4elgjgawpqlaspz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43qz9thwden5te0v35hgar09ec82c30wfjkccte6rx8wx

And that's just progressives for you, can't really fix Mastodon since it's a shithole site.

Reddit would be this way too if it was decentralized, Discord is also like this.

Basically anything that is ran by sexually permissive people turn a blind eye to, or enable this behavior.

I think when Mr. Mostr developed the bridge he didn't account for this, he probably intended for only good Mastodon content to relay but the problem is moderating that relay is tedious work.

I don't think he's malicious with the relay.

I think he worked hard on the bridge but unfortunately the other side of the bridge is a tribe of terrible people.

And frankly if you worked hard on something it would bug you to destroy it, best thing we can do is find a way as a community to fork that bridge, and have it moderated possibly.

Leave the original bridge in tact, so no accusations of censorship can be made.

It's unfortunate but it's an apple to oranges battle.

Wow, sounds like a giant rabbit hole of considerations. Has this been a topic of conversation amongst the devs? You seem to be quite in the know about the nuances surrounding it. Is Mr Mostr and Alex Gleason the same person? Alexis the one who's bringing community feature to Nostr, right?

And I am not the most techy but to better understand If a fork is done what happens to the original bridge?

No, I'm just an idiot trying to sound smart in front of one the Nostr Devs 😅.

Half of what I said is gibberish, and technically isn't possible.

I tried to avoid tagging him but I guess it did 🙃.

I don't want to accuse him of anything since he probably already gets a lot of flack for it anyways.

But yeah I referred to him as Mr. Mostr as a way to mention him without mentioning him.

How can I tell which notes are on which relays?

What app/client are you using?

To be completely honest with you, it doesn't appear to show where notes come from on those Clients.

Best thing you can do is check out a web based client that might have more control.

Usually on Damus, and Primal most relays are set by default but you can change them in the settings.

Kind of shooting blind tbh.

On Amethyst on Android this task is more easily performed since it shows the notes relays, & the users relays.

Thanks man! Is there another iOS client that I could use?

It looks like Nostur, and Nos both allow for a little bit more control.

Nostur shows you which relay the note came from.

Nos shows you a timeline based off of relays.

So those both could be helpful to check out.

How easily should I share my nsec? I love trying out new clients but to some extent feel paranoid about sharing it

Generally, you should be reserved with your Nsec but I think Nsec managers out there exist.

For android, & pc/web this is all fleshed out but I think the iOS ecosystem is still early.

Let me #AskNostr about this app, and see what they say?

Does anyone have any opinions on Nostore for iOS, is it good like Amber, or is it risky?

iOS: Primal and Damus

Mostr pulls content from mastadon and bluesky. Maybe the mess is really happening mostly on the controlled, moderated and censored platforms.
