The truth is not what people are waiting for.
What people want to hear is based on a collection of mutually reinforcing lies. Multiple misinterpretations and problems caused by people being stupid.
People don't want their mutually reinforcing lies torn apart and therefore there is only one answer that can be accepted, but it isn't the truth.
A lie is just pain deferred.
