Lame
You're scared of "getting in trouble" for something that is supposedly unstoppable digital cash. You've lost the plot or your crypto doesn't work.
NGMI
Oof, where did I say I was scared? No need to put words in my mouth :-)
Oh please tell me what the plot is, "crypto" fanboi.
You implied yourself that you're worried about getting "into trouble" or you wouldn't have brought it up as a concern for Monero.
I don't think I can make the plot much simpler for you than a meme lmao.
And by the way, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency. I know maxis hate to hear that. But don't take my word for it. Here is Satoshi:

I'm not worried at all. But I would understand normie businesses that would be. Monero is so obvious that it hurts itself badly in terms of gaining meaningful adoption. And adoption is part of the plot, no? Or are you fanbois fine with a coin for the happy few?
The term "Crypto" means a very different thing today. I suggest you keep that in mind for future converstations, or you'll hear this a lot more.
You sure you arent worried? You're the only one talking about it like it matters.
Fiat has more adoption than Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a failure?
Monero is permissionless. Anyone that wants to use it can. If they don't want to...not my problem🤷♂️
They must not need it
Yea, I get it "BItcoIn nOT CrYPtO"
Cope
I care about adoption and therefore scaling, yes. If you don't, you're excluding people that might need your solution. Which means it's not a good solution. Which means I shouldn't care about it.
It's easier for anyone in the world to get some bitcoin than to get some monero. So it's effectively more difficult to use Monero. Your viewpoint is quite naive tbh.
If adoption and scaling doesn't matter for you, then good for you. But then why attack Bitcoin all the time ? Jealous about smth ? Hurting because the market proves you wrong at every turn ? Just keep on using your coin and concentrate on Monero's own problems, iso spending all your time aiming and missing at the king.
The Monero fanboi hatred towards Bitcoin is cope grounded in jealousy. No one wants to hold your coin, get over it.
You can't force someone to want something. I'm not excluding anyone. It's free and permissionless anyone can use it I can't stop them. Like I said I don't care if you care, if you have no use for it then you don't. You want me to prosyletize a tool to someone who isn't interested in it or doesn't need it. If/when they need it they will use it.
How is it more difficult? You can get Monero just about anywhere you can get Bitcoin. Both KYC and KYC-free, from CEXes and DEXes. It's even on Bisq.
I'm naive? You're the one who thinks a public blockchain can be private 😂
My original meme was attacking the laser eye cult, not Bitcoin.
I can criticize any smoothy opinion I want. This is Nostr, bruh, you cant hide anymore
Yes, please don't mindlessly hodl Monero. We actually like our crypto to be p2p electronic cash.

Fair enough, I get that you're only interested in your ability to transact anonymously. But Bitcoin has outgrown its whitepaper. Satoshi is not Bitcoin. All bitcoiners make up Bitcoin. And that Bitcoin community is more ambitious than merely having a digital cash for the happy few. We want to scale and bring as much of the advantages of Bitcoin to as many people as possible (everyone not anyone). This does not mean allowing censorship or asking the gov for permission. Not sure which maxi is saying that (I for sure am not). Nor is it happening in Bitcoin.
Also, I wasn't aware that my name was on the blockchain. Seems you're confusing privacy with anonymity.
Transacting anonymously AND privately was the goal of the cypherpunks. The prehistory of Bitcoin that lead up to it's creation. There was no "hodling" or "store of value". That is all a very new narrative bolted onto Bitcoin. Which is fine as a goal, but don't conflate these things.
I get the sentiment. But imo these tools will always be a minority thing. All non-vaporware Bitcoin scaling solutions so far have been some sort of sacrifice of core foundational attributes like self-custody, permissionlessness, p2p, etc. The only contender to Monero's privacy is Ecash and that is custodial and the mint can secretly print tokens out of thin air.
Even if there was a way to avoid the above the state is not going to let it be allowed on the white market.
I think you might be confused. Anonymity = hidden identity. Privacy = hidden actions. Lack of one can be weaponzied to reveal the other. You can be psuedonymous on Bitcoin but your transaction graph is completely visible. Even if you coinjoin (obfuscation - a weaker form of privacy vs encryption), with more data, or your own future mistakes, that can be undone. Even older DNM admins are being busted a decade later because of their own mistakes using Bitcoin. If they can't keep their tracks hidden on Bitcoin the average person will not be able to.
Monero is about privacy , and, therefore, is being adopted for privacy oriented payments.
Bitcoin is for hodling , mostly KYC, and some payments when network fees are not prohibitive.
Bitcoin Lightning is for very quick small payments .
