Luckily the free Market counts as an omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent God ;)

Ew. What a gross notion.

Why is that?

Comparing a Supreme being to the market is silly. Also, calling the market those things is gross overstatement the market is none of those things.

It's not that silly. People compare real things (like the market) to non-existent, symbolic things (like dieties) all the time to great effect!

To the extent that the market is the aggregation of humans' desires, intentions and collective voluntary actions, it seems to very much fit the bill of "everywhere, 'knows' a lot, and is quite powerful".

From my perspective as a Christian, it is silly. God is not a vending machine. Heck, the market isn't even a vending machine. God, or any diety worth their salt, is not a manifestation of the will of humans. Any god that is just that would be a paltry god.

The market is limited by humans to a great extent, and only exists because humans are the way they are. A God, IMO, would be greater and set apart from mere human action and desire.

I get the point you're making, I just think it's a bit silly and not a particularly good set of attributes to assign similitude to a diety.

My original disagreement was with "without God, man requires more government (in order to function)".

My point is the market accomplishes the same. Not only is God not required, but the actual market is a better fit, given that it actually exists.

If your choices are between God and government, and the former turns out to be non-existent, then your stuck with government. Throw a real market in there and you've got a chance.

The market doesn't solve many issues, it just facilitates many things.

I'll stick with God and no government. 😁

Aight 😊

Lol, does it though? I'm about as free market as one gets, but...

You gotta have fun on Nostr and in life

Definitely.
