trying to integrate lightning into shopify only makes me want to build and ecommerce client on nostr. This is why i never get anything done.

Yeah I’m surprised even something like opennode doesn’t try to also do fiat payments up front in addition to lightning/bitcoin (they do btc to fiat auto conversion but not for the customer)

Isn't wordpress/woocomerce better though? I saw your comment about php code but it is still open source, self hostable, more customizable
It would work but it’s not at an engineering standard which i would like. Still much room for innovation here. Shouldn’t have to run any server code, its too hard for most people. I would like to see it done with just relays nostr clients.
It's still proprietary. From non-coding tech-savy person prespective the open source one is better.
You need skilled employees.. They would be a force multiplier for your vision and wisdom.

An ecommerce site on nostr is the key. Build this well and nostr can really get huge fast! Using Lightning!! This is the way ⚡️⚡️⚡️ #plebchain #grownostr
One of the reasons a Marketplace in Nostr is an absolute requirement to me.
Its not really solving any of the problems i need to solve at the moment. I just want an ecommerce solution that tracks physical order fulfillment.
Marketplace for me is product listing, ordering, fulfillment, accounting, and taxes/reporting.
Oh thought you were referring to the existing marketplace specs, but yeah this is more in line with what im thinking as well.
Unfortunately i think its too big to spec, and will likely be many competing specs and nostr platforms
Nostr doesn’t need to handle inventory tracking, fulfillment, and accounting/reporting. There are a million great solutions for that. Nostr just needs to handle linking buyers and sellers in an uncensorable way, on-going communication between those parties, payment over lightning, *maybe* ability to designate a third party to resolve disputes and/or reputation system, and then ability to export anything/everything to CSV. KISS / MVP etc

Shopify is good but can be a hall monitor… they will shut you down if they feel like it, a nostr competition would be good, but also allow normies to use it like a Shopify
Also there could be an “App Store” like Shopify, have an application layer on top of it too
Definitely. Their appstore is powerful. Could definitely make that on a client tech stack built on nostr
I have a close friend that I desperately want to get off Shopify as she doesn’t owe it and has too be in the good graces of Shopify
