Our graduated wallet will give newcomers a wallet with the UX of Wallet of Satoshi, but with good privacy.

Then as they accrue a larger balance the wallet will educate them and prompt them to upgrade to self-custody with the press of a button.

This I did not know. Will check it out.

You guys are top tier! 🤝

In fact, would love to send you some beans if interested as a very small token of appreciation. DM if interested with some address and beans you want.

Blimey. Masses in there. Will need to re-read when I have more time. Quick questions: (1) How does it handle incoming payments when your phone is off? (2) Can you have multiple outgoing channels, e.g. preferred channel to home routing node and then a second backup LSP?

FYI I am running almost a weekly Q&A session on SN like this

https://stacker.news/items/1335830 where you can ask these kind of questions. Nostr is not very good fur that but I will try to answer you, even that all of them are already answered in my guides.

1. You can put it in "persistent mode" and the LND service is running in background like any other desktop node.

2. Yes, you are free to open as many channnels you want, it is not a wlled garden like Phoenix. Also the path finding is on your device, that means only you know the peers, not like in Phoenix. Read more here: https://docs.zeusln.app/for-users/embedded-node/privacy

Thank you!

I'd say at least another thousand

The guides will continue until Evan and team stops innovating.

So never!

hahaha good point, I always have to update them because of new features in Zeus.

PS I thought they had created a new wallet setup type called "graduated" where the setup was stunningly simple with all options 100% preconfigured, so a one tap setup for normies. Then they could change and take on additional settings as they grow.

It's not crazy difficult, but does take more thought than the other custodial options. Love to see them constantly innovating and agree best mobile ln wallet. 🤝

I was using nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 from day one when they launch it in Feb 2019...

And I saw how slowly but steady they improve it with every calculated step.

For years was an ugly UI/UX but I knew that is the way forward. I learned how to run LN nodes with Zeus

A good wallet app is not built in 2-3 months, but in years and years of testing and calculating each feature. Keep in mind that is also dependable of other code, for each LN implementation, so is not so easy to advance with new features and design when the backend is still building it.

I am sure next year you will have that wonderful and smooth UI of graduated wallet, but right now you have to use what you have and learn as much as you can to be prepared to ignore that simple UI and go for advanced usage, like pro.

Bitcoin is a natural selection, where only the brave and knowledgeable will win the high prize. All the rest the clueless uses will be the losers...

I got into Zeus around 2020 and have seen the improvements. Once I figured it out it has been amazing and my daily driver for my btcpay node on my phone.

Between learning lightning via Zeus and learning about utxos and on-chain TX via sparrow, its incredible how you learn via FAFO

Zeus looks complicated at first sight for a noob - yes indeed.

But only looks complicated because is all open in the UI not hidden in obscure features.

Zeus is not lying its users, is pure bitcoin and lightning as it should be.

Agree 100% 🤝

Was going to check it out.

This is the way to go. We recommand often WoS then moving to a self-custodial mobile wallet like Zeus embedded LND node or Phoenix, then ultimately move to running a 24:7 online node if wished. But it was always with change of wallet. If we have easy to onboard custodial that works from thr first sats, then onchain + LN self-custodial upgrade suggested in a click once enough sats are stacked, that will be a huge UX improvement and top wallet recommandation for most use cases. Don't forget the PoS for merchant that must works in all configurations.

self custody will always be the minority

but i am glad you are taking this route

I hope to be worthy one day and learn how to use this properly! 👍⚡

Great idea ⚡

On top of this, Zeus also has on-chain functionality and a built-in swap interface, so you can move your sats on-chain from lightning and back, without having to alter your existing channels. All within Zeus.

The wallet giving you the option of choosing from a list of swap providers is an added bonus.

Is this referring to the ecash feature? If not, how could I set that up to help people learn and get an easy lightning wallet nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 ?

Love the gradually learning curve for new users. Finally!
