Altcoins are dumb but lending protocols are cool. Consequently, I'm in a weird position where I want a p2p lending protocol that is bitcoin-only, i.e. you can only lend bitcoins to earn more bitcoins, and you can only borrow bitcoins by putting up other bitcoins as collateral

This 'Eventually more bitcoin will need to be paid than there is in existence' phenomena should not be overlooked, and it takes a bit of research to understand.
