Sure, but we really haven't had widespread deflation anytime since then, so we're still living with that inflation plus the more recent/current inflation.

Maybe 1958 is a better guess? I went with 70s because the 90s already felt past the peak when I was there. Better music, y'know?

I see your point. I just thought that the 90s seemed like the sweet spot where technology was really good but not crippling like it is today. I didn’t choose video games over spending time outside with friends even though I played a lot of video games.

I feel that. I bet a lot of the "sweet spot" of the tech comes from living through it. I know that for my dad, even email was crippling tech that he never understood.

Yeah if you were young during the 90s you managed to experience both worlds. Memorizing phone numbers, planning to meet with someone without confirming over text, dealing with a phone call that interrupts your slow internet access 😂

Yes, 100%. The 90s is a pretty good dividing line: before cell phones, but IM on desktop computers; there's still a cohesive "mainstream" pop culture, but you can find niche groups online and "underground." CDs sucked though, haha

Buying CD albums was fun but CD players sucked. They needed batteries and would skip a lot lol we’ve come a long way!

Peak music was definitely in the 70s. I do loves me some 90s jams and 2000s nu metal, but 70s music was glorious

70s was like Elvis right? lol
