I see your point. I just thought that the 90s seemed like the sweet spot where technology was really good but not crippling like it is today. I didn’t choose video games over spending time outside with friends even though I played a lot of video games.

I feel that. I bet a lot of the "sweet spot" of the tech comes from living through it. I know that for my dad, even email was crippling tech that he never understood.
Yeah if you were young during the 90s you managed to experience both worlds. Memorizing phone numbers, planning to meet with someone without confirming over text, dealing with a phone call that interrupts your slow internet access 😂
Yes, 100%. The 90s is a pretty good dividing line: before cell phones, but IM on desktop computers; there's still a cohesive "mainstream" pop culture, but you can find niche groups online and "underground." CDs sucked though, haha
