Hi welcome. A zap is a quick way of giving sats to people if you want to. Decentralised is the key feature.
No need to be in Bitcoin to enjoy Nostr

Bitcoiners were first adopters. Nostr is kind of a natural fit for them, because they are primed to appreciate censorship resistance in ways that other niche communities just aren't.
There are other people here too. There is lots of Bitcoin talk, but if you look there is plenty of other interesting content too.
Zaps are Bitcoin btw. It is a way to send micro payments to other users for their art, articles, good posts, etc. Some people even sell IRL products here that you can pay for instantly with Bitcoin.
If you want to get a wallet set up, just post a note with the asknostr hashtag and people will help you out. Then you can receive and send zaps. 👍
