Seriously, I'm so confused. I run a VPN all the time and don't have any issues with my Apps not working. I'm just wondering how bad their config is.

I haven't even had many issues with websites. I would say 95% work just fine. And the only apps that don't like the VPN are Hulu and Paramount.

i had a mobile phone refill company block me recently
and occasionally services will put your account on the "restricted" list until you make a fuss
Also, check if your VPN is leaking traffic. execute this command when connected to your VPN. curl —interface eth0 (your interface, check with „ifconfig“) https://google.com
If this command times out, you are fine, if you get a response, you’re leaking traffic, i.e your IP is public.
