I don't understand why these folks are still fighting over this tiny plot of horrible real estate after all these many centuries. The people need to get rid of Likud and Hamas, and come together to draw some equitable boundaries so they can be done with it once and for all, and live in peace. There's no good reason to continue fighting over this. Look at the death and despair this meaningless war has brought. Look at how many innocent civilians have been slaughtered. And for what?

The origin of the conflict goes back to the 16th century Ottoman Empire. It has transformed, waned, and reignited several times over the centuries.
They fight because like most Palestine this is their land which was stolen by Israel. No one wants or is supposed to live under occupation and apartheid. Hamas is not a problem since Israeli aggression was there since 1948. Study topic before drawing false conclusions.
Israel didn't exist in the 16th century, when the conflict began. What we're witnessing now is just the latest iteration of a centuries-long conflict between Muslims and Jews over that particular plot of land. Learn history before making assumptions and unnecessary snide remarks.

What happened during NAKBA of 1948 was land theft and long planned Zionist invasion based on activities of terror organizations like Irgun and others. Israel is an occupier under international law and has to return land to native population which is Palestinians. Israelis are invaders and colonizers who mostly came there from Europe and US. They have no DNA or native land owners so get the fuck out with this Hasbara bullshit. We follow law or we denounce international law and courts? If we follow law then the land case, occupation and apartheid committed by Israel is clear as day. The origins of current conflict is 1930s Zionist plan to conquer Palestine and NAKBA. That is modern era and we should focus on that and not dilute it by the endless going back to ancient history.
