What a timeline.

> Microsoft and OpenAI are reportedly working on a massive datacenter to house an AI-focused supercomputer featuring millions of GPUs. The Information reports that the project could cost "in excess of $115 billion" and that the supercomputer, currently dubbed "Stargate" inside OpenAI, would be U.S.-based.

moar advanced math, hope they bring cortana 👀😏

I wonder how much electricity this will consume? Won't someone think of the environment?

I think it'd be sweet if someone could convince me "AI" is worth the hype.

Microsoft is currently building several *behemoth* substations in Wisconsin for this.

Its fucking off the local power grid infrastructure

Wild.

The future is going to be wild.

The "big tech" push for AI has very little to do with the promises of AI.

Rather, it is all about selling compute cycles. Microsoft (Azure) is seeing one hell of a payday with all these AI projects hoovering up all the compute they can find.
