Sad day for El Salvador πΈπ»
Never made much sense, but still sad :/
The only thing it means is that a merchant isnβt legally FORCED to accept it.
2025, the year we slay all our heros.
Bitcoiners got lazy and began to rely on governments and Wall St rather than buckling down and creating the alternative to both. That alternative was the vision for Bitcoin before the lure of 5 and 6 figure $USD valuations. That alternative still exists and it's the world we want rather than the one we are being served by Fiat based interests.
Never give up.
Do something to help Bitcoin everyday.
Onward.
Misleading post.
El Salvador is a joke. They saw Bitcoin was trending and adopted it because they thought it would quickly change their country. Unfortunately it's only a small tiny fraction of people in the world that use and save in Bitcoin.
It attracted some foreigners and they even pushed out propaganda that El Salvadora was going to be the new Singapore, they tried convincing people that they were going to build a Bitcoin city, volcano bonds, Chivo app and many more failures by the government.
There is just not enough people that use and save in Bitcoin at this moment so all that work to attract a tiny amount of Bitcoiners isn't going to change the country. Especially since the majority of Bitcoiners are not rich.
The El Salvadoran people are busy surviving to worry about saving in Bitcoin. All the propaganda vidoes online always showed foreigners enjoying the beach while rarely did we see El Salvadoran people in the videos. So much propaganda.
The reality is spending lots of money to help accelerate Bitcoin by a government is not going to help when a tiny amount of people use Bitcoin and most of them don't want to pay taxes.
Bitcoin will succeed by the people making it succeed and not by governments.
but didn't they go and buy 11 bitcoin or a large amount the day they got the IMF loan... maybe they milked them for some more fiat to stack with??
