Minibits has become unusable for zapping.
Any recommendations that aren't Strike, Primal, Zeus, or Alby? (Sending and receiving)

Yeah, doesn't work. Shame.
At least I don't have a lot of money in it.
In fairness, they did sufficiently warn me. I'm not shitting on it as an alpha project. It's quite good in that context. It just isn't ready for how I daily drive
What's your daily drive like?
Zap notes similar to how one might like them. Quickly without having to babysit the connected wallet. I've had issues with all the ones I listed. I spent way too much time troubleshooting or waiting to make sure zaps actually went through. Primal's zap experience was probably the best I ever had, but the app had too many other issues and it requires Strike. I prefer something something without any KYC at any amount. If I recall, the Primal wallet required an email. I prefer no such requirements.
It could be that I want what simply doesn't exist. Which may be fair given the complexity of it all. But it seems like we always end up with the best experiences being centralized, which seems antithetical to the point.
👍🏻 very similar to my experience. I did have to stop using minibits. I conquer all of this and everything you have shared. Curious what wallet you settle on when you find a good solution. I am using coinos but i am slowing down my usage here and deleted my apps multiple times and pretty sure that breaks my wallet connect so have no had any zaps on over a week.
And apparently if you delete your nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg4waehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsrrnrxl app that break the connection of the wallet which is fucking stupid. My notes can't be deleted so they should also be zappable whether I have a fucking client app downloaded to my device or not. #fixthis
I don't see why the notes wouldn't be zapable if you relayed them to relays outside Primal's control. It sounds like they just aren't allowing the wallet to function without a valid install. If true, it makes sense from a business perspective, but it makes me wonder what all is involved in that level of user device snooping.
The zap experience is good, but I like the separation of duties principle. I prefer to not have too much functionality rely on a single app. Unfortunately, that mentality has me in a frustrating spot.
I am just venting. Looks like I may have been zappable but removing the app disconnects my wallet so it appears I have to go through the set up every time I download it if I want to zap. So the settings I may have on a browser version of the app for my nsec don't carry over when I download the app on phone and login with the same nsec. 🤷🏻♀️
What apps are you currently using? Yeah frustration sucks.
Amethyst and Minibits.
phoenix or cashu.me
Lifpay and coinos (but I heard they're down atm for some reason).
I'm more interested in self-custody methods. I saw the Coinos notification. I guess that's the price of using a centralized database lol
If you are technical enough and run a lightning node, there are self-custodial solutions.
Any you've used and recommend?
Yes, I highly recommend https://github.com/mutatrum/ligess a fork by nostr:npub1hklphk7fkfdgmzwclkhshcdqmnvr0wkfdy04j7yjjqa9lhvxuflsa23u2k. I've been running it on my domain with no issues whatsoever.
Perhaps the easiest would be Alby Hub, but I have not tried it myself.
I'd considered it in the past but the pricing was far above the amounts I zap monthly for this particular use case.
I suppose I could broaden my use case to justify it. Hosting may have been the cost. I cant recall. I'll look into it again. Thanks!
phoenixd + satdress, using nwc
Phoenixd looks interesting, but satdress seems abandoned. I appreciate the suggestions.
It lives! But it lives on here: https://github.com/braydonf/satdress
It’s definitely the best experience, but annoying to set up. I’m working on packaging it up, alongside pwallet, but I’m not a programmer so I rely on my mixed-bag AI friends.
