Do you know why Berlin is one of the few cities with no curfew? 🤔

In 1949, with the cold war it's infancy, Berliner Hanz Zellermayer convinced the Allied authorities that closing the bars too early was bad PR for the free world.

Legend has it that Zellermayer brought a bottle of whisky and kept the French and Americans drinking until they agreed that there should be no closing hours.

The British tried to intervene, but to no avail. Berlin's curfew was scrapped forever and the world's greatest night life was born.

Cool, I didn't know this 🤙

One of my favorite things about Berlin is how even the seemingly superficial is steeped with meaning.

I couldn't ever keep up with the Berliner party schedule, but I can admire it for the art it is.

I've always wanted to see one of those abandoned subway stations in the east. Know where I might be able to find one?

I went to the Spreepark last time I was there. Tons of fun.

There are several. Nordbahnhof is interesting because it's been recommissioned since the fall of the Wall, but you can still clearly tell that it was abandoned for 40 years. It feels like it carries the legacy of at least three different Berlins. Although it's unremarkable in every other respect.

I also like the reopened Heinrich Heine station, because it used to be in the death strip and now it's the arrival gate for KitKat, Berlin's best sex-positive club.

Whoa that's wild. Thanks for the tips 🤙

The seemingly superficial, steeped with meaning. Let me know if you come by!

I'll be there the weekend of the 8th and a few days after. Going to try to join the event that's happening that weekend so I'll come find you if I can

That's great to hear, it'll be an awesome event. Check my profile and repost some of the promo. We have zero marketing people or budget. Just plebs.

Word I'll do that. Only know a few bitcoiners in Germany and they are spread all over, but I'll send it to them directly

We are aimed at Bitcoiners from all over the world, as thousands are in Europe in June.
