I check out who other people are following. The global feed is too crazy for me.

if you don't already, look through who follows you. I usually check that list every other week and always find 3 or 4 interesting people I choose to follow. but that's just my personal experience. I also look to see who the people I follow are talking to and replying to. paid relays global chat has a constant stream of people slowly streaming in.
