There are legitimate go fund me campaigns for children suffering from all kind of diseases out there.
But how did you identify this one wasn't?
I personally have been in investigative mode (checked their fund me page and found it very strange that no comments from any sort of community was present on all the updates), and felt annoyed by all the interaction I got (likes on every single comment it seemed I would leave on the protocol). I felt like I smelt scam and what felt like preying on empathy and compassion having chosen that npub name.
The images were taken from the Facebook page linked in this note. A reverse image search found them.
This is why charity should be local first. Don't throw money at things you don't or can't know anything about.
