Today I learned that BitAxes are not waterproof. And that keeping them close to a plant is not a good idea.

There’s no reason to trust you. Each of us has to verify it for ourselves.

Correct.

The broke-ass protocol ( #BAP ) is only necessary to the hard headed. I've used it for many years. However I haven't jumped in front of a bullet train and I'm confident that it's not necessary to test that but mostly I've used BAP to live and I've paid for it many times.

my condolences!😢

Oh no!

My toddler was ā€œcleaningā€ stuff with a wet wipe and it in fact turns out that bitaxes don’t like to be cleaned

I agree

Maybe Bitcoin isn't a good idea.

Only if you like plants.

Maybe associating everything with Bitcoin to a specialized piece of hardware that failed under less than pristine conditions isn't a good idea.

You know those cointards keep their entire (purported) wealth on single specialized pieces of hardware or so I've been told.

When the chip on my credit card fails I just go to the bank and get a new one.

The Bitcoin on chain protocol does not depend on any specialized hardware to hold your money. All you need to have is your signing key which is never part of the network. You have a receiving key that is public and a private key that is private. A signing device is a tool that does this. The protocol has signing devices in hot wallet, could wallet configurations. Your actual Bitcoin doesn't even exist! It's a ledger entry that is public and it's within the realm of 2.1 quadrillion parts.

The bitaxe is a mining device that has nothing to do with custody of your own Bitcoin.

Since it took me about 7 years to understand the basics I would recommend you do the same. If your signing device breaks it's nothing as long as you have your keys written or stamped and in a secure place. That's what self custody is all about.

Your credit card is an inflation creating device due to fractional (and not so fractional) reserve banking where money, digitally is created out of nowhere without any work.

Your welcome. I pray that you can understand how this works. I pray that in service to God you have no need for any of this.

Usury is not freedom.

Oh ok. I thought it was one of those hardware wallet devices. Then I don't understand the worry about it if it gets damaged. It's just another electronic device like a laptop or a TV. If it gets damaged someone will repair it or you buy a new one. There isn't much at stake. People wouldn't post here if their laptop or TV got damaged why post about a Bitaxe.

Yes I could study Bitcoin for 7 years. I could also study Latin for 7 years so I understand Catholic theology and at the end I'd still be a superstitious nincompoop that believes in magic thingie in the sky.

My fiat money isn't created without work, quite the contrary. Because the central bank of my country keeps the money supply in balance with the size of the economy which is the products and services on offer.

Those products and services are not just a lot of work, they have actual immediate value like feeding, clothing, transporting, housing, healing people and even the latest video games too wouldn't you know.

They take a lot of skill too which is why I live in an advanced society that's mostly based on skill. Your economy is based on the skill of buying a Bitaxe and plugging it into the wall. A chimpanzee can do that.

Your faith is rote.

The Bitcoin isn’t actually on the hardware device. If the hardware device fails and you can’t recover your bitcoin, that would confirm that you are in fact a retard and should’ve done more research before taking custody of your bitcoin.

Yeah keep out of reach of children too. Almost had a mini disaster. Apparently kids like blinky lights.

We live, we learn… and sometimes baptize our hardware. 😁

BitAxe needs to take a page from the watch industry. "Water Resistant Up To 0 Meters"

They also don't like 12v šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Ouch!

Sounds about right

Hang in there!

Haha, yeah, BitAxes and water don’t mix, and they’re definitely not plant-friendly! Good call keeping them away from your greenery. Stick with Bitcoin for that seamless, borderless value transfer—no water damage or plant hazards to worry about. It’s the ultimate maxi move!
