Rheumatologists are, on average, really good physicians. They know how to listen and look and don’t reflexively order every test on every patient.

Unfortunately there’s not enough of them.
No worries, over time they’ll just fill that specialty with inexperienced midlevels who will just go ahead and start ordering ALL the bloodwork + pan CTs on all new patients and write “evaluate” as the reason/indication for imaging.
What could possibly go wrong?
lol, that’s exactly what motivated my post and the sad fact I was silently lamenting.
Maybe AI can let us get back to writing real medical notes. You can have the real view of the H&P and the bullshit billing view all facilitated by AI.
