Any bitcoiners trying to tear down #Bitcoin only businesses are insanely misled in my opinion and wildly naive as to what we are up against.

All businesses should operate ethically, which they don’t, and Bitcoin only businesses should hold themselves to an even higher standard. However, we are up against the largest evil the world has ever known. Fiat money. Capable of destroying everything and anything in its path. Even worse, as it weakens it turns to global killing weapons to try to maintain its hold on society. While fiat is still accepted, war and death are certain.

#Bitcoin ONLY in the hands of as many as possible gives us a fraction of a shot at stopping fiat’s madness before it triggers the next world war. A FRACTION.

Go out today and talk to some strangers. Tell them about bitcoin, running and node and self custody. Watch their eyes glaze over and overwhelm fill their brains. Time IS NOT on our side. Anyone helping to educate the population to use a bitcoin only approach and the dire need for bitcoin is AN ALLY, even if they aren’t “perfect”.

Choose your battles wisely. 🫡

I disagree. Bitcoin is a monetary technology. Not a business. We need plumbers, electricians, restaurants, butchers, etc. that choose to use bitcoin as a savings technology more than we need “bitcoin only” businesses.

Of course what you said is true. My point is that anyone helping to educate those people on why the world needs Bitcoin only, are helping that exact thing to take place.

people are difficult to educate. The easiest thing is to set an example. It's complex to change something so ingrained, we're all congratulated.

Bitcoin only is too extreme, if many small businesses accepted "also bitcoin" we could grow the circular economy much faster, now days accepting bitcoin with a lighting terminal is very simple for small businesses (just need a mobile phone and an account).

There are many small merchants that could easily do that, I suspect the problem will be that they will have very little users paying with bitcoin.

I agree with this theory, but practically, it’s difficult to execute. I consider myself a full-fledged bitcoiner, with all the isms and syndromes that come with it. I don’t run a node, and no longer talk about it much. It’s hard enough convincing the people in my immediate circle, never mind reaching out past that. If there’s an interest from someone, by all means, I’ll share the little that I know. Other than that, it’s me continually marching to the beat of my own drum. I’m sure for others, or I at least hope, the experience of sharing is likely very different. I do think the tides will change, but not as quickly as I first anticipated.

I’m similar to you. That’s kind of my point of the post. A bitcoin only business that is putting information out there is our ally. Even if they aren’t perfect. It’s extremely difficult to reach people, we need all the help we can get… and fast.

You’re right!

Humor, ridicule, and reframing are also powerful tools. For example, I like to use the term "warbucks" instead of "dollars, euros, fiat, etc." In my business I say, "I prefer payment in anything other than warbucks"

That’s great. I’m going to use that! 🤝

Yes.

Sometimes the immune system gets a little too excited & wants to attack the host's systems because they're seen as less than ideal.

It also seems like a lot of inflated egos & triggering at play to me.

I'm resisting adding fuel to the fire.
