Hmm. I’m conflicted about this one.
Never used Monero, and I don’t know much about the technical aspects of it, but my general understanding is that it’s at least honorable as a piece of privacy technology.
I can understand if a company like Samourai is a max privacy focused company, that they’d want to incorporate a feature like this for their user base. (Different from wrapping BTC in some other shitcoin chain or something like that).
What do you think?
I think they are in business still because London is all in on financial service hub.

Yea...I will never understand why some maxis are so scared of Monero. It's not trying to/can't replace Bitcoin. They've taken completely different paths/specializations.

They feel Bitcoin maxis over state everything and miss the point. Personally I believe it’s had a very positive impact on Bitcoin’s trajectory having a hard core of maxis questioning everything, it’s actually saved Bitcoin in earlier days 🤷♂️
I feel that. I think, as Bitcoin adoption grows, the maxi voices will continue to play an important role in keeping the narrative “honorable”, for lack of a better word.
Delivery could use some work, as the “toxic” meme is not entirely flattering, but my guess is that much of that is due to the nature of online spaces like Twitter.
As communities like nostr grow (and thus help to create new bitcoiners/Bitcoin users), there’s an opportunity for a “gentle but firm” kind of maximalist-rooted onboarding.

Onboarding is one thing, vehemently protecting and questioning any underlying ideas about the protocol is another. Thank god for maxis in 2017 for instance. Massive respect to toxicity imo 🤙
