Our friend lost their teenage daughter two yrs ago when her boyfriends motorcycle t-boned a car that pulled out in front of them. They were both warning helmets. It was just three blocks from our house.

My wife was an RN until recently. She worked in neuropsych. Guess who the vast majority of non-elderly patients were.

No helmet cycle crash survivors.

I gave up riding when our first child was on the way. I was a die-hard rider, rain or shine. But taking the risk of not being able to provide for them just seemed too selfish.

I've had brushes with death while riding. Sold my bike after becoming a father.
