The mempool blob is now 77 MB. Are the monke jpeg enjoyooors taking a breather before unleashing the next wave of pestilence? 🤔

I’ve been wondering the same.

Is this a lull before another storm?

What is the meaning of this back log?

Bitcoin 24.0.1 dropped with ordisrespector

Does this play a role?

Not an immediate role but if you listen to Casey Rodarmor on either Odell or NVK’s podcasts recently, it could become a dangerous game of chicken between nodes that run it and nodes that don’t

Chicken? How so? Worst case is that blocks take ever so slightly longer to propagate.

The way Casey and Rijndael explained it was that individual mempools start diverging drastically depending on whether the node is running ordisrespector or not

Yes, but that is the desired effect. The only potential negative is that blocks take ever so slightly longer to propagate when they are found (if they contain any inscriptions).

Why dangerous? Mem pools are individualized anyways, once proposed in a block all nodes would accept it unless we make a more invasive change. Didn’t listen though so maybe I missed context.

Maybe they finally realized that just because one makes a monke jpeg, that doesn’t mean anyone is going to buy their monke jpeg

They didn't get rich in a week, so, like psychic locusts, they swarm to some other retarded narrative to mindlessly devour. Perhaps they will be back, if some warped, deviant developer actually delivers a marketplace for them to dump their bordinal apes on even dumber retail.

The marketplace is 100% coming. The folks at Trust Machines have been building tools in a breathless frenzy since this began

Trust Machines is basically Stacks or Stacks-adjacent, right? LOL that definitely tracks.

It’s mostly stacks and ostensibly some LN and Bitcoin core stuff as well

You gotta think that there are only so many people who want to buy jpgs with bitcoin. Saw a post on twitter about some new token for buying ordinals. It will all eventually die.
