A guy published a book calling for public stoning 😯
I haven't read this, but I'm not sure Jesus would approve. The one time we know of that they tried to stone a woman in His presence He stopped it.

I always wondered what he wrote/drew on the ground when he did that
I've wondered about that too. One preacher I heard speculated that perhaps He started writing the names of the men there who were going to stone the woman and the names of the women they had committed adultery with and the dates.
Someone else I heard linked Jeremiah 17:13 to this incident, which says:
"Lord, the hope of Israel,
all who abandon you
will be put to shame.
All who turn away from me
will be written in the dirt,
for they have abandoned
the Lord, the fountain of living water."

I still favor capital punishment, though I know many Christian libertarians oppose it on moral grounds. I'm not fully convinced it's immoral. The Apostle Paul said in Acts 25:11 “If, then, I am a wrongdoer and have committed anything worthy of death, I do not refuse to die." I am opposed to the State, and to the State carrying out capital punishment, but it doesn't have to be exclusively carried out by the State. Often the victim's family or the whole community would carry out just executions. That said, I don't personally like the barbarity of stoning, and I'm not sure it's what Jesus would have us do.
I remember learning about how they were still doing this in Inda, I believe, when I was a kid. How they would bury wives alive with their dead husbands.
And didn't they do some stoning in the middle east? I can't remember who, but the guys who were decapitating and doing all kinds of evil, I believe were also stoning people.
I'm so happy to know Jesus, and not living in a country that condones such behaviors!! 😬
