Hi nostr, we saw the bobcat again this morning, he was up in a tree, waiting for the chicken door to open so he could grab a chicken. Luckily the rooster alerted us, and we ran outside just in time to see the bobcat climb down the tree and run off. Pretty damned bold of him. We'll go out again in the morning to see if we can shoot him.

The rest of the day we spent mostly outside, working on little projects. Also i decided to try my hand at incubating a few chicken eggs. I had forgotten that my husband had an old incubator left over from when he raised quail. So i found it and put a few eggs in it, maybe i'll get a couple to hatch. Anyway, yall have good evening nostr friends. Stay happy, healthy, and free. #grownostr #homesteading https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/8d9d2b77930ee54ec3e46faf774ddd041dbb4e4aa35ad47c025884a286dd65fa/7c5f7c303a7a7cf81e33d51316ad8bba2966961a5f619bcfee8d3b968000d13a.webp

Stay happy, healthy and free indeed!! Have a wonderful evening Maria! ☺️

That dang bobcat.

I’m exited for your incubation project!

Thanks, if i get even one to hatch, i'll be happy. Gotta replenish after the bobcat massacre. My backup plan is my friend that hatches all the time. She'll gladly give me some chicks.

Well I’m rooting for ya. Hopefully they all hatch. Idk why but I had more success when I sprayed a peroxide water dilution on the eggs before incubating. Idk if anyone else does that.

Hmm, i'll keep that in mind, thanks.
