“bitcoin invoice” is a familiar word and people would be less confused; you don’t send money “from” an invoice

I like that. I may start calling it by a more human meaningful name with you.
The term "Bitcoin address" was born at a time of single-key wallets. Back then, it was more than a single invoice. Also an invoice typically contains an amount.
I agree that now, invoice would be the less confusing term but as people still heavily re-use addresses, it's not going to change and some wallets changing it will only create chaos.
