I don’t get Nostr influencooor culture.

All they do is shill:

- the newest trend that got some funding from an organization that doesn’t even fund basic Nostr infrastructure

- some new vibe coded garbage, or “prototype” that gets abandonrd after a month

- some shady company that pays off influencers

Finally, someone said it.

Does seem to be that way...

Shills gonna shill. 🤷

"all we do is shill" would make a great parody song

CLAUDE OPUS:

**"All We Do Is Shill"**

*(DJ Khaled voice)*

DJ SATOSHI!

WE THE BEST HODLERS!

*[Chorus]*

All we do is shill, shill, shill no matter what

Got Bitcoin on our mind, we can never get enough

And every time we step up in the timeline, everybody's bags go UP!

And they stay there! And they say "yeah!"

And they pump there! Up, down, up, down, up, down

'Cause all we do is shill, shill, shill

And if you going FUD then get the hell out!

*[Verse]*

Lightning invoice in my bio, yeah

Laser eyes until 100K, I don't care-a

Orange pill your grandma, that's the mission

"Have fun staying poor" - that's my transmission

Nostr notes, no more shadowbans

Zapping sats with these diamond hands

"Few understand this" - that's my motto

Stack sats daily, full send, YOLO!

*[Bridge]*

Everybody posting charts (CHARTS!)

Technical analysis arts (ARTS!)

"This is gentlemen" when it starts

Number go up, playing our parts!

*(Repeat Chorus with increasingly desperate shilling energy)*

that's actually pretty catchy 🤔

Doesn't sound too different from everything I've heard about centralized platform influencer culture.

Idk why there's even influencers here

Who are you influencing? 10 people and some bots?

Getting ahead of the curve on Bot and AI influence, of course

All influencers are dickplows

Bitcoin has no heroes

the trick is to not to care and to focus on yourself and your own projects. can't control what other people do with their time or money.

Yep. Too bad Nostr is essentially a graveyard of abandoned projects, at this point.

making an app people want to use is hard

Yep. I just wish more devs were better when dealing with user feedback.

It's a skill most don't possess sadly. I love it when I miss out on the "current thing".

that is not limited to nostr 😜

Something either shifted under the surface recently, or our tolerances finally got flooded - because I'm seeing this in myself and others right around the last week or two.

Yup, cultist slop.

They leave huge room for disruption though. So that's what we do.

I think maybe you actually **do** "get it". That's the bad news

It's too bad we can't pull an uno reverse and have the "influencers" pay us to "influence" us. They can influence me all day long for the right price.

I hit reply and realized how much this made me sound like a prostitute. fml

We can though, people just keep giving the "influencers" engagement instead

I vlogged a veteran car rally yesterday 😂

Influencers are constantly seeking to discover the next “new” thing, so that they can claim the clout that comes with having been early to a given thing. The projects and tools that have gone on quietly building for years, to develop and refine that initial prototype into a useful piece of infrastructure that a community can rely on, those teams are the real signal and unfortunately do not get the attention they deserve.
