Found a simple fix nostr:nprofile1qqsxua0hju3e0j3jjhs0fjs0h3htnnreh6zm4lw4d0fhsgsv4rhwwnsprdmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68yurvv438xtnrdakj7qg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t09uq3camnwvaz7tmwdaehgun9d3shjtnev4nksun09eekjar99ujwapd9 - forgot to check out mycelium- you've always been able to generate single key addresses in that and then I realised, it gives you the segwit address plus P2SH & P2PKH addy corresponding to the key too.

I think I may have to dust off the old plates. I'm gonna bury them and give my daughter the what 3 words location in case I die suddenly lol

I record mine to cassette. Offline. Analog. Has support shamir splits for over 50 years with multiple cassettes.

You can rerecord over a cassette you don't like for extra obfuscation.

👀

That's seriously cool, have you posted details of how you do that? I'd be interested even if I'm more likely to stick to burying metal plates like an ancient person 👍

Here's the clip from the episode where I talk about it. It's basically as secure as paper if you just say them.

Oh shit, that's so simple and so elegant. How many people even have a working. Cassette player these days? Genius. And anyone under 30 won't even recognise what they're looking at anyway 😂 What's the lifetime for tape though? It degrades over time even if it's just left sealed away, doesn't it?

The magnetic properties of tape can fade. But it's an analog signal so it will fade but not disappear. If taken care of, I still buy tapes over 40 years old and I think they sound great.

However, strong magnets can erase them. This is a pro and a con.

At CES, _this year_, a major music electronic producer called Fiio released a brand new walkman with usb c charging.

So, yeah it's niche. But I don't think it's going to 0.

And yes, it has the obfuscstion properties you mentioned.

I'm experimenting with a pencil and paper encryption scheme based on a one time pad, but honestly just Shakir split on multiple tapes might be easier.
