What's more important for Lightning?

A) Punishment for bad behaviour when someone tries to steal

B) No risk of losing all funds in a channel due to a freak accident

Depends on the circumstances.

If you have a channel with a mostly trusted counterparty, B.

But in a decentralized environment where you have channels with totally untrustworthy peers, A.

Eltoo with friends, LN with enemies?

Eltoo with friends, LN with randos.

classic case of why not both?

Both are mutually exclusive, that's the catch πŸ€™

Although a middle ground is possible (you don't have to have 100% punishments, 0% risk etc).

or make the decision based on the relationship with the peer

Eltoo with friends, LN with enemies

Interesting thought.

Would it be possible to run different channels (some LN, some eltoo) from one node?

Yes, should work afaik!

Great question. They talked about this briefly on the most recent Chaincode podcast. I think probably the latter.

Like #[2] said, por que no los dos?

It depends on what's going on, I think. From a technical viewpoint, how might the two scenarios be distinct?

Tough choice … as it’s unknown how many A) would occur if there is no punishment.. though I like eltoo and I’m hoping this gets implemented I understand there is a risk there
