I converted $200 in November ish 2017 at 8k. And sat on it for two years.

Then I sold some and shitcoined for a year. In 2020

Then I really started trying to understand what was going on.

Then went only to Bitcoin in 2021. Aside from my fiat job and things tethering me to that system still.

I began regularly stacking at top and all the way down and to today.

I'm still on this journey. Yes I would have more if I went harder when I started. If I had pushed myself to understand and learn. But I don't regret it.

At some point my weird gamble, play money, became my real money. And took me on an exploratory and investigative trial I've not yet made full sense of. But I do question more, and pay more attention to the systems at play.

I'm not a whale.

But I think despite that, what I have managed to understand, and being able to play around and support people here, as little as I can, has made me feel wealthier for it.

It's been a weird 5/6 years. I do believe I, and all of you here, are still very, very early.

SAME 🤝

My unit of account has changed. I slowly let this weird and new shift envelope me. 🫡🫂💜🧡

My journey too, has been strange. Expensive too. I had a nice chunk of BTC. Spent it mining shit coins. Stacked more. Spent more. Finally got it in my head to put in a cold wallet. Can't touch this stash.

Currently have a new stacking goal. 30 million Satoshi.

The odd thing is the self custody made sense to me right off the bat, though in practice I probably put myself through more risk. I bought and got it into a shitty mobile hot wallet and did a bunch of shit wrong and without understanding what it was I was doing. Managed to restore it through a new phone. Never lost any somehow.

And then sent like half back to sell for eth and cardano and chain link 🤣🤷🤦. eventually I sorted my shit out. Cold storaged and verified by my node now.

I still have much to learn. 🤝

Very nice story, bro!

Not a million miles from my own story. Bought some in the summer of 2017 and sat on it until 2020 (forgetting about it really). When I saw the reaction to Covid -money printing- I started buying more and getting more interested what bitcoin actually is and how it works. Several books and countless hours of podcasts and articles later I’m a full blown convert adding to my stack regularly

I have almost there same story. Got rekt in shitcoins in 17/18. Gave up. Came back early 21 and became a maxi in less than 6 months. Wish I got it the first time, but I'm definitely not too late.

At some point I really realized what was going on and it was like I got hit by a train. I can't remember exactly when but same, within months of really focusing and trying to find good content and voices it was over. The proverbial lightbulb went on.

Yeah I don't think the content was available back in 17/18 anyway or there was too much noise in the way to find it. I kind of knew the technology was a major innovation, but didn't really understand how exactly, so it was easy to get distracted by all the bullshit. Once you zero in on it though there's no getting distracted anymore. The laser eyes are a really apt meme for Bitcoiners 😂

Andreas Antonopoulos really helped me sort it originally, but yeah, it was too amorphous to me then. Once I really understood the block size thing it clicked I think. That may have been my real hold up, the scaling.

That is still on my mind, but without a fair underlying distributed robust network it wouldn't matter. So I think that was my last realization. And now here, playing with all the lighting implementations and going back on chain and all that, has been a whole new perspective.

We are so early that few understand how far we have to go until hyperbitcoinizatazion.. We are on the right path and it will be a long and exiting journey 🍀💜🤙
