Doctors are not allowed to. If they are too outspoken they can have states threaten to pull their licensure.
Source: one of my oldest friends is a doctor (board cert neurologist).. he was threatened in a meeting with a group of doctors with his license based on his line of simple questions on billing for patients when Obamacare rolled out.
Yeah I had a discussion with nostr:npub1m6gvtkek5sq3l82cfh7p3hs62ujxs6r8npre8m6jvvcm28utg05sde2e6g about this earlier this year. I too have a license that goes through the state board and have to deal with insurance policies. The whole thing is fucked. Again, my problem is mostly with insurance companies effectively making complex medical decisions due to costs and coverages in place of the actual medical professionals who went through school and training.
