If most nostr relays are just running on AWS infra and the like, what are the odds we see a parlour like attack where nostr relays are targetted and censored by amazon ?

Parler is a centralized entity, single account like. Whatever relays hosted on AWS are going to be by different entities. And in general people would be quite foolish to host big relays on AWS as the network costs would be rediculous. There are plenty of data centers globally for different VPS providers.

Yep. Mine is located with Hetzner. I have active accounts with Oracle and Linode just in case, and regular backups.

In a few months I’ll have fiber in the homelab and will be able to roll over to my home server during outages and still offer fairly fast service.

for sure. But there are really only a handful of large/significant relays to be v disruptive

They are not mostly on AWS🐶🐾🫡

Of the bigger relays, are you saying they are run locally as opposed to external infra like aws etc etc?

Great if true.

Hetzner, Contabo, etc, etc. There are tons of cloud providers 🐶🐾🫡

AWS is too expensive to run relay in any case 🐶🐾🫡

yeah ok. So just saying they distributed enough amongst external providers to be satisfactory

I think so 🐶🐾🫡

Mmm sounds reasonable short term, but long term id have doubts.

if the commies really turn up the volume its not hard to see ALL external providers in a said jurisdiction bending the knee to “protect the climate or democracy” or whatever other crazy bs the commies pretend is the reason for us not be be able to freely discuss

We’ll cross that bridge once we get there. 🐶🐾🫡

Eventually the node is in the phone, messages passed over bluetooth and wifi and mesh, like street pass on the Nintendo DS.

It won't get that bad though.

😅

Possible but harder to pull off

Whack a mole

Yeah hoping for this

Parlor was the canary in the coal mine

I thought it was mostly strfry?
