From a medical perspective:

Agree (although not sure what TCM is). Randomized controlled trials show acupuncture doesn’t work.

They also show that the placebo effect does work.

Also, dry needling does work, which is essentially the same needles as acupuncture, but deeper and into the muscles.

This makes me thing that successful acupuncture results are really a combination of placebo effect and muscle stimulation.

FWIW, I have tried both acupuncture and dry needling and dry needling is vastly superior.
