You can use 3 things:
1- Google Play in the usual way all other apps do, without any other do (obviously this requires the "Play" flavor of Amethyst.
2- Via UnifiedPush with ntfy and other apps like that.
3- Via Pokey which stays connected to your inbox servers and sends the events to Amethyst for the Notification.

I love #Amethyst notifications .. particularly the ones that show how many SATs I was zapped :-)
Besides the privacy settings .. I would never install an ORBOT or other stuff ... #Amethyst gives me all that in the app itself ...
I guess #Primal will never give you privacy :-) .. You know why ?

Sorry to jump in here, but I've heard there are issues with privacy and google notifications. Would these notifications be encrypted using Google?
Yep, Google doesn't even see which keys you are logged in or which keys the encrypted message is for. All they have is a device token and they know when a message arrives. But they don't know what it is.
