I know all the GrapheneOS fanbois will cry but for me a phone without root is not really mine.
And yes, I'm willing to trade security and noob-proofing for absolute control and ownership.

🫣 No won't cry.
You do you, we all choose to weigh up risk through cost benefit. I have a rooted device, not my daily driver though. I won't keep anything sensitive on it though.
Same as I don't on one that runs debug builds.
That's fair. I distrust phones in general so I already think it's a bad idea to use them for sensitive things.
What do you do on it that you couldn't do without root privileges?
Install wireguard kernel which allows concurrent tunnels (you can connect to multiple VPNs at once, e.g. your home VPN and mullvad).
AuroraStore and fdroid root installers.
Mount an NFS filesystem with your self hosted cloud storage (yes I know there's built-in userspace support for SMB but I prefer NFS).
A bunch of other cool stuff. Freedom and control in general. I don't like the feeling of being locked out of a device I should own.
What OS do you use?
Fair point.
I'm not so tech savvy, I'm fine with my non-rooted #grapeneOS. It does what I need 😉
