Network upgrade complete. New hardware, new VLANs, new isolation rules, new APs.

No more need for network-wide, always-on VPN on the Protectli hardware firewall. I went full mystical cyber-ninja this time.

Still running multiple OSes with multiple VPNs simultaneously connected to multiple locations through #QubesOS. Still rocking #VeraCrypt encrypted volumes on #Tails.

More connection. More security. More privacy. More options. More control. All is well.

What router? What APs? I'm always on three lookout for an upgrade.

Why can’t I follow you?

Who would run QubesOS? It’s really niche, a programmer or someone with a bit of saavy on PC‘s?

Journalists and those who need to protect their privacy / security.

How about converting to minimalism and going full mobile? 🤔

Putting the finishing touches on the network upgrade this morning, and switching everything over from NextDNS to Quad9

Is this your daily driver setup? Very impressive regardless

Do you tunnel through multiple VPN providers so that the one who knows your IP doesn't automatically know your connecting too?

My daily OPSEC doesn't call for such extreme measures. If I need to use a multi-hop VPN setup, I will for specific usecases. I would rather not take the speed hit unless I have to. I also use and recommend Whonix over Tor. The baked-in integration with QubesOS + disposable VMs is good stuff.

I also wonder how much it really adds. If one of the top 5 privacy VPNs is a honeypot, why not all 5? Defence in depth i suppose.

I've been thinking about moving to NixOS but I've got so uses to the piece of mind I get from using disposable Whonix VMs. This looks promising though: https://forum.qubes-os.org/t/starting-work-on-nixos-template/25591/21
