Love nostr, but I think there are still issues with relay overlap especially in messaging. Seems I have issues with newer nostr users. If I haven't responded to a message comment here, we may have to communicate a different way. I did deep dive on relays with Amethyst and Primal. I have paid relays and big relays, but still issues.

What do you mean by "relay overlap" ?

I guess my understanding is the relays I have and the relays you have must be the same or overlap somewhere, like 6 degrees of separation. Person 1 on Relay 1 is had by 100 people, some of whom have relay 2, some of those have relay 3. Person 2 only has relay 2 and 3 so could get posts/messages from 1 b/c of overlap???? Or maybe I have it all wrong.

Hi mapletrade happy black monday 🏴‍☠️

Yeah, relay overlap and propagation are still a bit rough, especially with DMs. I’ve noticed messages getting lost too. Would be great if clients implemented better fallback or syncing across relays. In the meantime, feel free to tag me in public or zap as a ping!

99% chance your issue is primal, just drop that app as they're not focused on interoperability and have poor security #nsex

I think (maybe) its not on my end. As I said its usually the newer npubs and their relays arent handpicked, just default.

Then it's for sure on nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg4waehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsqs6amnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0ds2g5zx8 idk when but amethyst was moving to the new implementation of DMS and primal doesn't implement nips anymore, they just use nostr for the npub sign in. They spend their time making advanced search features while ignoring basic security implementations and since they're the easiest app to use frequently noobs start there.
