I guess the solution is a socialist global government who distributes wealth fairly and makes sure we all live in an environmentally sustainable way.

Have a look to Brussel, they are working hard on it.
It won't be a government in the Western democratic sense we usually think of. It will maximum be a representative organization aggregated of nation state assemblies that looks very decent, democratic, and established for the well-being of society and the greater good. A senate in times of the Roman Empire, a congregation of unelected officials, who represent yet another ruling group operating in the invisible background. The technology for such a universal control structure to work for long periods of time is now available. The UN structure could be used as a vehicle. The European political structure with its supranational enforcement mechanisms makes it even easier to build already.

He should know that none of these people are actually calling the shots and that they're not even close to be among the richest people on earth because all their value is dependent on their stock holdings which they can't touch without diluting the stock price.

1) Robert Reich is a dumb comunista who is a puppet of the regime
2) These platforms were never forced on anyone and therefore the folks that got rich by owning them are likely satisfying a need/want for a ton of people. Everyone using their platforms is there voluntarily as far as I know.
3) Anyone can stop using their platforms at any time and build their own platforms/protocols, and convince others to do the same. Difficult? Yes. Impossible? No.
4) Use Nostr and convince people within your circle to do the same. If you have the skills, build on Nostr too. Anyone that will remain beholden to Musk, Zuck or Ellison learnt nothing during covid, and will learn the hard way soon enough about the importance of decentralized and censorship resistant technologies.
5) These oligarchs don’t control both Nostr and #bitcoin , and they never will.
