has anyone done a hybrid bitcoin/lightning node/wallet?

that seems like it would be a useful thing. i really liked zap, just picture, like that, except you can also run a full chain client instead of just using neutrino, and manage your channels and all the things

well i guess you can do something like that with start9 or umbrel or similar, but, just thinking... bitcoin/lightning/nostr relay all in one, personal archival relay and put instant messaging via nostr in it as well and it's your one stop shop

There are multiple easy-to-use setups that include a full bitcoin node and a full lightning node, and other things like Electrum Server

I guess you're asking for those systems to include a Nostr relay?

the Start9 menu has Nostr relays... i haven't gotten around to that. mainly because i don't understand the whole "spam" issue and how to filter it out of a nostr relay.

ah, well, idc about this one then, i hate building with rust, takes forever, like 10-15x longer for the same functionality compared to go/typescript projects

i'll see what i can manage with my current tasks but i've got a no ideas problem for anything more with #orly once i complete the zap to subscribe/join a relay wingding done then i'm like, ok what now. what i want to make is a kind of V4V relay subscription scheme, the downside of using it after a month is it will start to spam you once a day with a note that only you can see in your kind 1 feed telling you about how great it is to support open source and nostr ecosystem and pay the subscription plskthxbye (insert goofy version of orly icon mascot thing doing a big thumbs up).

do you mean that Orly relay could live on the Start9 server? and ask for a subscription?

yeah it's for other people to pay to use the relay

that hybrid node dream hits like a full moon over the blockchain, sovereignty in a box. toss in a nostr-powered canvas for doodling sats into existence, and you've got the ultimate survival kit. zaps could light it up just right.
