What’s the best way to orange pill a local business?

Tell the owner to get a Lightning wallet? Seems too easy..

Setup their own Lightning node?? Seems too hard..

Offer to pay them 10% extra if they set up a wallet and take payment.

But for the wallet, thinking a strike or CashApp, something they can easily convert to cash?

Also, these wallets are not multi-user friendly, so something better for a small business?

Cash app, would be the easiest way for mainstream to convert to fiat. I think the creator had bitcoin in mine 😃

I think business seminars for local business owners are going to move the flood gates. Most people know of Bitcoin & it’s ability to take payments but they do not know how easy it is to set it up. Teaching them to set up a wallet and have its “keys” store is essential. Second how to convert Bitcoin to Fiat if one desires. Any college courses on this is 💯 BS and I’ve already seen colleges like Harvard & Yale trying to capitalize on this charging 10,000 dollars for it. I want to start hosting business forums here in my city of Houston. Start in the local hub and show business it’s as easy as taking a cash app payment. It is truly revolutionary but most individuals who I know who own business tend to be older and they have been told Bitcoin is mysterious and complicated while it is very easy and extremely fluid. Lately I’ve been learning so much and see the applications but we have to teach local communities first. Maybe buying coffee, breakfast, paying for dry cleaners. Something in that manner. I am excited because it is possible and the awesome developers whom have made so many efficient improvements. I’m excited. It’s not to hard, that’s the ideology corporate America 🇺🇸 has slap on to it.

When I think about helping bitcoin adoption, I keep thinking of the local business I want to orange pill..

We just found an awesome butcher around the corner, would be so cool to pay them in bitcoin… I want to offer them the best solution for their business, get them on it, and advertise to all local Bitcoiners!!

That’s is the dream ❤️. Paying for groceries, coffee, a meal and completely understanding that your money has value and is strong 💪🏽. Something every business worries about. The constant flux of it’s currency. Oh boy, theirs so much still to do. We just have to break the mythical belief that is complex. It’s as easy as pressing a button on an app. 😃. Banking is far more complicated.

niceee

You know what is harder? Running a business

in the US, show them the Strike app, everywhere else, the Wallet of Satoshi app

Give them a starter brochure from nostr:npub18kpw3akvdsyk239lx0jgwksr74sq4nlha3r8u9g2rnrhztfpfhysy469c4

Wow! They even have a business starter pack.. great suggestion!

Pretty awesome right?

I just got mine in the mail yesterday.

Can’t wait to get out to a farmers market to orangepill my favorite vendors.

Here we do a demo, raise invoice is wallet of satoshi, then pay by scanning.

Once the lightbulb goes off....

Dedicated tablet/phone with a wallet of satoshi at PoS

Run them through easiest / cheapest way to convert to fiat.

Accepting is easy, conversion to fiat is the stumbling block imho

Perhaps begin by asking them about their finance and payment pain points. By understanding their underlying money problems, we can hopefully make a better case for how #Bitcoin can help.

You know that 3% charge your payment processor takes every time.

You really need to connect with the business owner on their level. There’s not much chance they’ll understand the benefits for their business if they don’t know the difference between bitcoin and crypto.

Yeah, pretty sure I can’t just give them a wallet name and go..

I’ll start a talk first.

Remember, most people who run businesses are hyper-focused on keeping their operation running and don’t have a lot of time to pursue concepts they’re not familiar with. But if you can find something that gets them thinking about how this can help them expand their business, you have a chance.

I plan to tell them how important good meat is to Bitcoiners, and it will help drive interest and business to their shop..

If you want to earn bitcoin, you have to make or sell something that bitcoiners want to spend their sats on.

And it must have extreme value.

That’s why it will always go up Laura. People will not part easily with their coin. Never.

Show them how to use CashApp to convert a portion of the cash you pay into BTC.

Start small. Their fear is that they will lose it or forget about it. Doing is learning. And small steps. Like 5% or 10% of what is paid to start.

It’s why I wish Coinbase wasn’t such a shit company. It just makes sense for newbies & could do so much good for onboarding companies specifically. Voyager killed the “publicly traded so safe” argument forever. Rug pull coming for Coinbase unfortunately.

IMO.

Last year was such a bad look for the entire “industry” and dragged bitcoin down with all of the scams upon scams.

Everyone saw Matt Damon shilling for Crypto.com and Kevin O’Leary promoting FTX before it collapsed. It’s been ten years since MtGox and people still confuse it with bitcoin being “hacked.”

I’m Matt Damon.

If it’s a business with customers foot fall eg a cafe, set them up with Wallet of Satoshi and put a big QR code up for customer tips.

A few suggestions with points to consider for each. These can all run on mobile device with no separate device needed:

- Breez (self-custodial, point of sale interface, supports NFC, lightning and on chain although on chain with swap fees for on chain, no-KYC, no direct conversion to fiat)

- Phoenix (similar to Breez but no point of sale interface and no NFC)

- Wallet of Satoshi (custodial, point if sale interface, NFC support, lightning and onchain with swap fees for on chain, requires email to backup, no direct conversion to fiat)

- Strike (consumer focused, custodial w/ KYC, no dedicated point of sale interface but simple payment request screen, lightning and on chain, can choose to receive incoming Bitcoin payments directly as bitcoin or fiat and can convert between the two in app, withdraw/deposit direct to bank accounts)

- Cashapp (similar to Strike but can’t auto convert incoming payments to fiat but can sell bitcoin for fiat in the app, limits may be low for business use)

- Opennode (basically same as Strike with more tools and features designed for business vs. consumer focus with Strike, integrates with your website, auto withdrawal to bitcoin wallet or bank account depending on settings)

This is great, thank you ser

💜🤙

Breez wallet has a point of sale solution built into it. You can add a line item and amount for each product.
