Is it normal for Strike to be unable to find routing to Alby

Could be either side though, Alby could not have enough inbound

Not for the legacy custodial Alby accounts. For the new self-custodial Alby accounts, problem is probably not enough inbound liquidity on the Alby user’s side.

Ah so I probably just gotta connect my bank account

No. I meant the Alby user has to have open channels with enough inbound liquidity to receive the payment. Also, Strike may have a hard time finding a route if the channels open are not to well connected nodes.

Try to zap my self-custodial Alby and you will see if the problem is on Alby user side or on your side 😗😗

I have a lot of inbound liquidity 😝😝

Just try it, trust me. Magic will happen afterwards lol 😉🧙

Well I just setup alby, got my self custodial wallet, and now I wanna transfer my sats from strike to alby but I’m getting that error

Can't even zap you 1 sat. Sounds more like a configuration issue. How old is your node? How many public channels?

Oh I just setup my alby wallet and hub this morning, maybe there’s a step I missed

Surely you must use alby hub with a lightning node?

I don’t even know 😂 I only just set it up hours ago

How did you "set up" alby hub? Just installing it bare.. Or as part of for example Umbrel?

Didn't alby hub want a local lightning node as part of setup?

The hub I saw was their own website, nothing to install

It was like “upgrade for 20k sats a month” and so on, so I did, but I can’t get any sats in lol

Check the getting started guide. For 20k a month they spin up a lightning node for you in the cloud... But you still have to configure it.

This will involve depositing sats or bitcoin and opening one or more channels.

Check 3, 4 and 5

Go to "Node" page and see If you have "receiving capacity"

Wow that’s amazing ‼️‼️

Maybe Alby Hub will bringing plebs to Selfcustody LN 🧠

I as a pleb started with Alby too and now I’m at a begging to learn about LN in depth and also I allready got some little channels.

Maybe this is what will help onboard the next 7.9B people to Bitcoin through Lightning Network.⚡️

I'll be there with open channels!

You need to have inbound liquidity if you want to get sats in selfcustody 😙 or at least I think that. I have connected Alby hub to my node, so that’s why I can get a few transactions in. Bcs of “inbound” of that node.

I zapped you, did you get it? 🐝

Yep, it went through no problem 😁

Do you see any error message on Strike's side?

If you send over your Alby lightning address we can look for some events. --> support@getalby.com

It could be missing receiving capacity. I would aim for twice the size of the max. payment that you plan to receive (in at least one of your channels)
