I mean, if you want I can copy paste 90+ pages of research notes but I wouldn't expect you to actually read through it or chase any of the sources because doing so would mean engaging in the opposite of confirmation bias and egotistical people won't do that.

Research of what exactly? That not everyone should have children? Or that Christ isn’t God?

My research is loving my neighbors.

When my neighbors express reverence for the Creator using ways and words with which I am unfamiliar, it is not loving to judge them as demonic or less than.

It is loving to talk to them and learn from them and find common ground between their teachings and other teachings with which I'm already familiar.

Most people are divisive dogmatists. I study every religion. Because of that, I am aware of lots and lots of connections that unitraditional dogmatists are not.

Well firstly, I don’t think anyone judged you as demonic, that feels like a leap.

And honestly, if your point takes 90+ pages to defend, maybe it’s just not that good of a point?

It's not "a point". It's more like a thousand points. Given how complicated the religion subject is, it is absurd for you to expect something neat and tidy to resolve all of that complication that already exists.

I also love that you call me egotistical when you have a bio a mile long, boasting about how brilliant you are 🤣

It would be egotistical if I was overestimating my worth.

My profile contains facts.

So what exactly makes you think I’m egotistical? That I don’t agree with your brilliant analysis of all religions?

You entered a conversation without doing your due diligence on me first because you think you're on my level.

The first lesson taught in any martial arts dojo is not to go getting involved in scraps with randos. You don't know what they're bringing to the party.

My proof of work is in my profile but you chose not to check it out and to instead make prejudicial statements.

lol you’re a ridiculous person dude. This is a really straightforward conversation - is having children good and should the majority of people have one?

I don’t need to prove shit to you. I could not care less that I’m “not on your level” and I definitely don’t need to give any proof of work to you.

I have children, I take care of them and my wife. I was once a child that lived through a less than ideal childhood. That’s my proof of work on this topic.

That wasn't the debate but because most of the people who got a boost of dopamine from HODL's message chimed in happily and created a bunch of noise that obfuscated the original signal.

I'd tell you to go do some due diligence and look it up yourself but I know that you don't do that so I'll spoonfeed it to you.

HODL said "Marriage and family is essential for a full and happy life".

That's false.

My position is not anti-marriage, anti-children, or anti-family.

My position is, very specifically, that HODL's statement was wrong.

There are people who live a full and happy life without those things.

You seem SUPER happy to me 🤣

How is that relevant?

I am legit happy that I don't have a wife and kids.

The funny thing about proving a logical statement is it takes only one counterexample to disprove it.

For a community centered around code and logic, there sure is a dearth of logic.

To be fair, it's a lot better here than in the global population but it's still a shitshow here.

That's because the original statement was only a claim on oxytocin IMHO.
