Something about it was lost on me originally. I watched it again later, and while I liked it I still somehow didn't get the HUGE hype it seemed to have. Saw it yet again a few years ago and was like yeah, that's a classic π€·ββοΈ
Totally agree with you. Itβs definitely a classic. How I view this movie definitely evolves with worldview
Downloading it. Will rewatch soon
I wanna give that ... gd it what's the name of it, I keep forgetting. Ah yes, Blink Twice movie a shot. Heard a couple decent reviews now
Oh wow I remember this one. Messed up movie. Definitely worth a watch
Good not great. I get why people love it though. Island cough cough
It's recent, right? Did I mess the name up again? Let's see...yup, got it right. I heard two positive reviews from IRL people. Not rave, but solid. And Quick Look at trailer told me good casting and tone. Good enough for me these days.
It's odd isn't it. There's a British sitcom called "Black Adder" staring Rown Atkinson, it is one my absolute favourites, 4 series with only 6 episodes in each. I must have seen each of them at least 15 or 20 times over the past 30-35 years. Each and everytime I've watched them, I'll find myself laughing at different things each time which I hadn't previously, as my world view and knowledge thereof, improves. It is a masterpiece, of writing. Co-written by......Richard Curtis, of 4 Weddings a d a Funeral fame, for all you film buffsππ, and no, I've not seen that eitherπ€·π»ββοΈπ.
Omg, you had me at Rown Atkinson! Name of show sounds familiar, but could be I'd heard "Dark Adder" in a video game or something. Holy shit! I must see this now..well, soon
If you've not seen it, it's ABSOLUTE GOLD. The first series is a bit slow and clunky but the last 3 are phenomenal.
1st Series: The dark ages.
2nd Series: Elizabethan.
3rd Series: Georgian.
4th Series: The 1st World War, while still funny, it's actually quite moving and thought provoking this one!
Unless I have amnesia, I've not seen! Giddy now
Enjoy. I'm almost certain you willππ».
The first Series was made in, I think, 1982. A very young Rowan!
Aired in 83, per wikipedo
Hope the age of production doesn't hurt my enjoyment
As I say, the first series isn't the best, but fight through it, the last 3 are brilliant. As well as Rowan there are appreances and guest appearances by Rik Mayal (Guest) and also, Steven Fry (Permanent, great characters).
Oh, and Hugh Loryπ.
Love him in this show!
Oof, fight through 3 eps is a tall order, especially if I have to convince others to watch with me. But I think I can manage
In that case, just the the 1st series off, or watch it on your own, when your husband has gone to bedπ¬π.
Good idea. He's not too bright, shouldn't notice the continuity gap
I won't ruin anything for you, but as we're both wordsmiths (Of a fashion), there's an episode, during the 3rd Series, that involves Dr Johnson, who actually wrote the first English dictionary. It is so so so funnyπππ.
I promise that is the only spoiler I'll post. He's having a piss up with his mates, and his Puritan Aunt and Uncle turn upππππ.
I loooooove Blackadder! Absolute classic show.
Rowan Atkinson is amazing π€©
And Ben Elton (who I adore) also co-wrote.
Funniest stand up show Iβve ever seen in person was Ben Elton.
I must have seen it a dozen times. Great comedic writing.
