Have we not been eating peanuts and sunflower seeds which contain the oils for thousands of years tho?

They are very tiny amounts in their natural forms in seeds and it's the highly industrialized process that makes them toxic.

Do these industrial processes not also exist for the "good" oils as well though?

Sure you can ruin good oils with heavy processing instead of doing organic cold pressing. But the main problem is the amino acid content. Even if you prepare seed oils cold pressed, the linoleic acid will oxidize anyhow and those oxidation products fuck you up real good: damage your blood vessels and malfunction mitochondrions for example. And there's good amount of research that these oils are actually behind heart disease: https://openheart.bmj.com/content/5/2/e000898

I’ve been asking this question for a few years now. This is the first answer I have seen.

I stopped using all rape seed oil a few years ago. Then I was always using cold pressed rape seed oil (we have loads of farmers around making small batch) all the info on the internet seemed to be about industrial seed oils but I was suspicious of the cold pressed bit with not evidence. So thank you this answer is what I needed.
